This is a story of two families with very different thoughts towards life. You have John (Adam Sandler) a likeable guy that tries to teach his children independence and accepts them as they are, his wife Deborah, who wants their children to be perfect but sees them as failiurs, and their two kids. On the other hand you have Flor a poor, Mexican single mother of Christina.
Flor gets hired as a housekeeper for John’s family and later she gets asked to move in with them along with her daughter Christina. When Deborah gets impressed with how well
behaved Christina is she starts treating her as the daughter she wished she had by sending her to private school, taking her shopping and showing her more love than her own daughter.
To all of that you can add an attraction between John and Flor, an affair and Deborah’s mother, a carefree drunk who tries to stop her daughter from doing the biggest mistake of her life and you got an excellent dramatic movie.
